5. Waste boxes
Yellow 12 liter boxes can be ordered from the working environment coordinator at KI, see Specialavfall in binder Order 2. The boxes are delivered to room number 1235, level 2, Nobels väg 12 C. The laboratory personnel at KI is responsible for that the boxes get picked up and placed in the washing room. Before using the boxes, an absorbing paper towel should be placed in the bottom of the box (this towel is delivered with the box).
The box should be labelled with a yellow label ”skärande/stickande/smittförande avfall” (sharps waste), ordered together with the boxes. Fill in the label and put it on the side of the box (see below).
When the box is full/weighs more than 12 kg, the yellow lid should be put on and the box placed in room 1428 for temporary storage. Make sure the box is closed properly, it should not be possible to open the lid. The boxes will be transported to room 1235, level 2, Nobels väg 12C, where they will be collected each week or on demand.
